Our Artist Terms Model

What are the terms for submitting a track to Deep Sounds?

Updated over a year ago

At Deep Sounds we are focused on building a very artist friendly platform that allows musicians to prosper while retaining 100% ownership of their music.

Below is a list of our minimal terms that are required in order for our model to work:

Exclusivity

  • Each track you submit and we approve will be exclusive to Deep Sounds for a minimum of 1 year and 60 days for Sync + Content ID rights.

  • Our exclusivity terms only applies to the tracks you submit to the platform and not you as an artist.

  • Deep sounds will register your track with Content ID and exclusively administer the content ID rights and royalty payments for each track approved our platform.

  • While the track is on our platform, it can NOT be on any other music library or have its sync rights sold outside the platform.

  • We only represent your sync and content ID rights, so you are free to have your tracks available for streaming on other music platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, or Tidal.

Rights & Rules

  • You must own 100% of the rights to the music that you submit.

  • No 3rd parties may own or administer the copyright to your music.

  • No cover songs.

  • No sampling from other copyrighted work.

Tracks, Stems, & Alternative Versions:

  • Uploading Alternative Versions of your Main Track and Stems is optional but encouraged. (Versions Best Practices and How to Export Stems)

  • When users purchase or generate a license for your main track, they will get access to your alternative versions and stems. This is considered one license and one sale.

  • If you have a lyrical track with an instrumental, you must upload them as one track and have the lyrical track as the main version and the instrumental as an additional version. You can not upload them separately as its considered a single track on our platform.
