How Subscription Royalties are Calculated

Subscription Royalties are your earnings share of the pot from our unlimited subscription plans and is calculated by various factors each month.

Your earnings are based on the following:

  1. How many accepted tracks you have on the site.

  2. How many of your tracks were licensed each month by Unlimited Plan Subscribers.

  3. The type of license that is being licensed by subscribes. Example: Broadcast license is weighted higher than a just for web license.

  4. How long you have been a Deep Sounds Artists. Every month you are an active artist on the platform you will get a slightly higher

IMPORTANT TO NOTE: You will only receive Subscription Royalties for that month as long as one of the following requirements is met:

  1. You submit and we approve a minimum of 1 track a month to the platform.

  2. An unlimited subscriber licenses at least 1 track from you using our unlimited subscription plans.

What Can Positively Impact Your Subscription Royalty Earnings

  1. Adding tracks constantly. The more approved tracks you have on Deep Sounds the higher your share is weighted in that category.

  2. Creating tracks that get licensed for higher end productions like broadcast or films.

  3. Be an active member on the site. The longer you are on our roster, the more your rank increases which influences your share of the Subscription Royalties.

What Can Negatively Impact Your Subscription Royalty Earnings

  1. Deleting approved tracks - for every approved track you delete your earnings are reduced since you have lowered your total approved tracks.

  2. Not enough tracks - we encourage our artists to upload frequently. The more tracks you have the more chances they will get licensed and it also gets you paid more for just having them on the platform.

  3. Tracks are not licensed - it's hard to know what sells these days, but we're here to make that easier. Here is an article on Best Practices for Music Artists.

To play it safe, we strongly recommend you submit at least 1 track a month and recommend you do it earlier in the month to get credited for that month.

Even if you do not meet either of those requirements, you will still be paid out for every Single License Purchase that is purchased by users who do not have an unlimited subscription as outlined above.
