Understanding your sales & payouts dashboard as an artist on our platform.

Updated over a year ago

Your sales page in your artist dashboard lists out the following transactions:

SINGLE TRACK LICENSES

When a user on our platform licenses a track from you it will show up on your sales page under Track Licenses and have the following information:

Date the License was purchased

This is the date when the license was purchased on our platform. The date is in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time)

Track Title

This is the name of your track that was licensed.

Purchase Type

The purchase type tells you how you will be compensated for that track.

There are three different license purchase types:

  1. No Subscription - A Single License purchase that was made using our free accounts without a subscription plan.

  2. Partial Subscription - Part of the license was covered under their subscription plan but the user had to pay extra to cover the cost that was not covered under their plan.

  3. Full Subscription - The license was fully covered by their unlimited subscription plan and you will be compensated through your monthly Subscription Royalties.

License That was Purchased

This is the license they have purchased which tells us how they intend to use their content and also limits the scope and medium of where they can publish their content.

Your Payout Total

This is the total payout you will receive after Deep Sounds takes out payment processing fees and our split.

Your Payout will look different for each Purchase Type

  • No Subscription - This will say pending until the payment is ready to be transferred to you. Once it is ready it will display your final payout amount with a check mark. If you see this right away please allow 1-3 business days for it to transfer to your bank account that is connected to Deep Sounds.

  • Partial Subscription - This will say pending until the overage payment is ready to be transferred to you. Please keep in mind you will also be compensated for this purchase through monthly Subscription Royalties on top of the payout listed here.

  • Full Subscription - This will not display a payout total as this license purchase will be compensated fully through your monthly Subscription Royalty Earnings.

SUBSCRIPTION ROYALTIES

This tab will display all the monthly Subscription Royalty Earnings you have recieved which includes the following information:

  • Date Posted - This is when your Subscription Royalty Earnings Payout was posted to your account. Please allow 1-3 business days for the funds to hit your bank account.

  • Description - The description tells you which month the Subscription Royalty Earnings payout is for. Keep in mind your Subscription Royalty Payout is on a one month delay so the payout date is not the same the month of your earnings.

  • Subscription Royalty Monthly Payout - This is the total compensation you received for your Subscription Royalty Earnings. Learn more about how subscription royalties are calculated.

CONTENT ID ROYALTIES

Content ID royalties are generated when your music is detected being used on YouTube without the appropriate clearance from the content creator. This detection is made possible through YouTube's Content ID system, which automatically identifies and manages copyrighted content uploaded by users. When your content is detected in videos on YouTube, you are entitled to royalties for its usage, even if the uploader hasn't obtained permission or a license to use your content.

Each month you will get an earnings report that contains the following information:

  • Tracks Detected

  • Total Videos Claimed

  • Total View Count from Videos Claimed

  • Payout Date

  • Payout Status

  • Your Net Earnings

Your Monthly Earnings Report is posted as soon as soon as its available which is usually within 3-5 months after the end of that month.

Your Content ID Payout schedule can be found here. Please note you will receive your Content ID Royalties once it reaches the minimum payout threshold of $10.

Please Note: On your Content ID Earnings report, you may see N/A listed under Payout Date and Payout Status and this is because even though your track was detected, you did not earn any revenue. This is usually because of a very low view count.

BONUS EARNINGS

Bonus Earnings displays the following sales information:

These are manual transfers sent directly from Deep Sounds. These can include prize winnings, adjustments, or we just sent you some money because we like you!
